Welcome to Zhan Research Group!
We are a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative research group in the
School of Mechanical Engineering and Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University.
What We Do
Working with engineers, biologists and clinicians, our research vision is to improve human health through fundamental and applied research focusing on manufacturing living biosystems and engineering biomedical devices.
We have two interactive research themes: 1) biomanufacturing and cryopreservation; 2) micro/nano-biomedical devices. We use principles and tools in heat and mass transfer, microfluidics, thermodynamics, bioengineering, micro/nanotechnology, and computational modeling. We are passionate about developing novel translational platform technologies to diagnose, understand, and treat diseases.
Openings
We always welcome highly motivated postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate students to join us!
Postdoc candidates are invited to contact Dr. Zhan with your research interests, CV, 1-3 representative publications, and contact information of references. Please include "Postdoc application - your name" in the email subject. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of prior research accomplishments. Applicants are encouraged to pursue fellowships through Purdue and other sources.
Prospective graduate students are welcome to contact Dr. Zhan with your research interests, CV, and transcripts. Please include "PhD (or MS) application - your name" in the email subject. Students with background and research experience in ME, BME, ChemE and others can apply to ME or BME graduate program at Purdue. Purdue engineering national ranking is 6th in 2024.
We are currently welcoming dedicated undergraduate researchers to participate in our research during the school year and/or summer. Multiple fellowship opportunities are available through EURO. Interested students please contact Dr. Zhan.
